National Holocaust Remembrance Day

Recently we received an email from someone very angry with the name of our organization: Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust. Today is National Holocaust Remembrance Day, and here is our response, explaining the grave parallels between the Jewish Holocaust and the Abortion Holocaust here in America.

"Holocaust? Really? Holocaust is a Greek word that basically means, “sacrificed by fire.” Did you all live in concentration and work camps? Did you all go days or weeks without eating or drinking? Did you live in a constant fear of being killed or your family, if they are still alive, being killed? Did men wearing black shiny boots shove you around and kill the people around you? Did the air raid sirens, the stench of the burning bodies, or the indoor, never cleaned bathroom keep you up at night? Do you have tattoos of numbers decorating your arms? Did a man with an iron fist, a square mustache, and a war machine trap you and beat you down to nothing? Do you remember the smell of the smoke that would come out of the tall brick towers? Do you remember the stench of corpses? Do you remember having to pick up the dead bodies of your friends, family, and race and throw them into a pit while it was set on fire? Do you remember how cramped the bunkhouses were at night? Do you remember how if you wanted to go to the bathroom how you had to piss and shit in a corner, where everyone else went. Do you remember waking up and helping take the dead bodies of whoever didn’t make it through the night out? Do you remember the people that would try to escape through the fence but only to be mowed down by a machine gun? Did you watch your friends walk into a building to take a “shower” some mornings? Did they ever return? Do you remember what their screams sounded like? Do you remember the feeling of being treated less than the scum of the Earth? But, most of all, do you remember the feeling of Adolf Hitler pissing in the mouths of your entire race and others?

Do you remember the 15+ million lives that were lost?

Don’t compare anything to the Holocaust. It’s ignorant and selfish. Go f*** yourselves."

Ashley’s response:

"Thank you for reaching out to us.

You have done an amazing job at painting a very graphic but real depiction of what being a Jew in the holocaust was like. How grave and disgusting it must have been to be treated like a parasite or less than human. My heart breaks for those who were gassed, starved, and considered undesirable based on their location, religion and cultural backgrounds. The holocaust was a massive genocide, one that has stood to be one of darkest periods in History.

While no, we never experienced firsthand what it was like to be a Jew, priest, disabled person, or gay during the holocaust, we do have experience in watching a modern day genocide unfolding right before our eyes. I know what it's like to watch a "man" drag his girlfriend inside of an abortion clinic while she screams at the top of her lungs for help. I've watched many videos of a defenseless baby being ripped limb from limb during an abortion. I've sat with Women for hours and listened to them tell the stories of their abortions with tears streaming down their face in absolute horror and regret. I've prayed on my knees outside of clinics where babies were being burned to ash in large ovens (similar to those used in the holocaust). I've smelled the stench of those innocent lives, and watched as ash fills the air. I've prayed at the gravesites of where hundreds of children's bodies were dumped on the side of the road, like trash. I can't even count how many hours I have spent talking to people who believe that killing disabled children, or those who will be born into a poor family, is the right thing to do.

Did you know that the founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger was a racist and a eugenicist? Did you know that she shared the same sentiments towards Jews that Hitler did? Did you know that she believed that Jews, Blacks, Hispanics, the poor and the disabled are inferior to white people? Did you know that Margaret Sanger opened mobile birth control clinics that only traveled to black and hispanic neighborhoods? Did you know that Margaret Sanger once said " We don't want word to get out that we want to exterminate the Negro population"? Did you know that Abortion has claimed the lives of over 55,772,015 children, not counting the mothers who died with them?

While I will never compare the Jewish holocaust to abortion to diminish the depth of evil that Jews had to endure, I must draw a parallel that they share one unfortunate coextensive outcome, and that is that they are both genocides and both equally as horrific.

You're right. I will never know what it's like to be a survivor of the Jewish Holocaust. But I do know what it's like to be a survivor of the abortion holocaust."
