Emily is truly a midwestern gift to California. She has heard God’s calling for the spiritually lost since her childhood. Her love for people and spreading the gospel has led her to do missions work in Spain, Mexico and has ultimately landed her in California. Emily speaks fluent Spanish as a result of her extensive time abroad.
At church in Orange County, Emily met and became fast friends with Jocabed Torres who is now an activist with Survivors. Emily was drawn to the pro-life work Jocabed was doing and began to join her in activism and public witness on behalf of the pre-born. In the Spring of 2023, Emily was sidewalk counseling with friends outside of a Planned Parenthood when the group encountered a Spanish-speaking mom who was seeking an abortion. Emily engaged in a deep conversation with this mom, who announced that she had decided to cancel her appointment and follow the group to a pregnancy resource clinic. The woman entered to cancel her appointment, but did not come out and presumably continued with the abortion.
This experience shook Emily to her core, and afterwards she resolved to speak the truth about abortion despite conflict or confrontation. In her work with Survivors, Emily has been able to both expose the horrors of abortion and offer the hope of Christ to hurting and broken families. Emily is cherished by her Survivors teammates for her wisdom and kind-yet-bold spirit.
In her free time, Emily loves trying out new cuisine, serving at her church, climbing and nurturing her friendships.
