Monday Morning Redemption

· Posted 12/11/07 by Kortney

God’s plan of redemption is always at work and it always amazes me. Monday mornings are always such a pain. You wake up and realize that the world is not always bright and sunny and that you are going to be hated for another five days for what you do.

This is the story of how God redeemed a Monday morning.

I was dreading getting out of my comfort zone and going to another college. We arrived at Mt. San Jacinto College and started to set up as usual. Originally I was at one end of the free speech zone, but decided to move to a higher traffic area.

After I moved, a woman came up to me and started talking. She told me that had she seen our signs many years ago, she would never have had an abortion.

This woman was the most sorrowful person I have ever met. She told me that many years ago, she and her fiancé got pregnant. In her third trimester he turned on her and told her that if she really loved him, she would get an abortion.

She didn’t know what to do, so she had the abortion and immediately regretted her decision. This was over twenty years ago and she still cries about it to this day.

It was evident that God had put her in our path to help her. She had become a Christian and loved the Lord, yet she was so burdened by the choice she made so many years ago.

Kortney and I took her aside so we could pray with her. We prayed with her, held her as she sobbed and listened to her.

We gave her our contact information and connected her with the local post-abortion healing group. She mentioned that she didn’t have a car to get to any meetings or retreats. We told her to call us anytime and she’d have a ride.

It is so obvious that Satan wants her in bondage and will work very hard to keep her there. She is 55 and trying to become a counselor. Can you imagine what great healing she could bring to post-abortive women if she herself could find healing?

The counselors that she had talked to in the past told her that it wasn’t the abortion making her depressed and she should stop talking about it. Is there any other issue that a counselor would tell you NOT to talk about? They are constantly trying to get people to talk about EVERYTHING.

Please pray for this woman that God’s full redemptive plan be fulfilled in her life, and that there will be no more obstacles to her freedom in Christ.

“Abba Father, let this woman that Kortney and Krista prayed for receive Your full comfort and healing. Please help her to open up to Your lovingkindness, that can forgive something as atrocious even as abortion. Comfort Kortney and Krista as they comfort these hurting women in the Name of the Most High Son of God, Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Amen!”
