Warren Cole Smith, Wordsmith

“God gave us a book because He wants us to engage,” Warren Cole Smith drawls in his southern accent. He wants us to engage our minds. Engage our hearts. Engage others.

Regarding those unjustly accused, Warren Cole Smith wrote: “. . . we in the church should be relentless in our defense of innocent victims.”

He is bold, daring, and unafraid to confront scandal, even when – especially when – it happens in the church. People should know the truth, even when the truth hurts. As Christians, we need to expose dishonestly, scandal, and injustice. The discomfort of doing so can lead to redemption.

Warren believes in the power of the word. In fact, among today’s wide variety of media options, he asserts that God’s preferred medium of communication is the written and spoken word. In a world where telling the truth challenges the status quo, Christian writers are renegades.

Despite that, Warren Cole Smith’s writings have been included in various books, including Public Relations, one of the most widely used college journalism textbooks in the world. Along with Marvin Olasky, he has written the classic, Prodigal Press, Confronting the Anti-Christian Bias of the American News Media.
