"I wish I was there. . . . The next baby born in Ireland will be a Survivor."

By Kristina Garza, Campus Outreach Director

July 11, 2013.  The Irish Parliament just voted to legalize abortion in Ireland.  I am filled with sadness for my Irish brothers and sisters.  Ireland has been, for so long, the beacon of hope -- “the jewel in the crown of the pro-life movement.”

I wish I could offer some words of comfort, solace, or consolation.  But there are none.

As difficult as their fight has been to keep Ireland abortion-free, our Irish counterparts have only just begun.  I know that the joy of being a Catholic, abortion-free nation has just been sucked from them like a vacuum. At this time of tragedy,  the energy and joy I’ve seen in the Irish defence of life can and will only be forged stronger.

I wish I was there.  I wish I could be there to cry with them.   To flee to church with them.  To beg God for mercy.

I wish my team was here with me right now so we could pray together.  So that we could mourn for Ireland together.

The next baby born in Ireland will be a Survivor.  A Survivor of the Irish Abortion Holocaust.

Lord, have mercy.  Have mercy on the political leaders that put money and political gain before their countrymen.  Have mercy on the parents who will fall for the lies of Marie Stopes, the abortion lobby, and the imminent Irish abortion industry.  Have mercy on the desperate people who will become employed by that industry.  Have mercy on the people who have allowed this to happen.  Have mercy on our generation.

Fiat Vita,

Kristina
